BIOGRAPHY

Marinus holds a PhD degree (cum laude) in medicinal chemistry from the University of Amsterdam (1980) and has 45 years of experience in drug research and development, biomedical communication and education.

From 1980 to 1985 he was Group Leader Autonomous Pharmacology and from 1989 to 1992 Project Manager Drug Development at Solvay Pharmaceuticals in Weesp (The Netherlands).

Between 1985 and 2001, he served as project manager, congress manager and director at the EORTC New Drug Development Office and associate director at NDDO Oncology, an oncology-focused CRO, established in 1999.

From 2001 to 2017, he was congress director of the NDDO Research Foundation / NDDO Education Foundation, the primary organizing entities of the annual International Congress on Targeted Anticancer Therapies (TAT) (continued by ESMO as of 2018) on new anticancer agents in early phases of development.

He is also a co-founder of Congress by design, the primary organizer of various national and international medical conferences and the oncology drug development training course Oncology Drug Development in Practice (ODDP).

He currently provides consultancy services in the field of oncology, in particular medical writing and educational services.
