Jean Yves Douillard
BIOGRAPHY
Jean Yves Douillard is a renowned French oncologist with significant expertise in the treatment of colorectal and lung cancers. He has held several influential positions throughout his career, including his role as Chief Medical Officer for the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) , where he led the scientific strategy and initiatives of the organization. He is also known for his contribution in developing the FOLFIRI regimen.
Previously, Douillard was a Professor of Medical Oncology at the Integrated Centers of Oncology René Gauducheau in Nantes, France, where he directed clinical and translational research. His research has been pivotal in advancing the understanding and treatment of mCRC, contributing to major international clinical trials that have influenced current treatment protocols. Douillard’s work has also focused on personalized medicine, particularly the impact of molecular markers such as KRAS mutations on cancer treatment outcomes.
