BIOGRAPHY

Born in Switzerland, Dr. Senn trains in medical oncology in the United States.

After his return to Switzerland, Senn is among the first cancer specialists in the country, with a specific focus on breast cancer.

Over the years, he establishes himself as one of the leading and most prominent figures in the field. He is president of the SAKK and has an essential role in the birth of the IBCSG, of which he becomes the Foundation Council’s first president in 1992.

He strongly promotes the start of the St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference, for which he develops the concept and format.

Devoted to teaching and training, Dr. Senn is also editor for important journals, like the European Journal of Cancer, The Breast and the Journal of Supportive Care in Cancer.

He dies on January 13, 2023.
