Cancer Patients Europe

OVERVIEW

Cancer Patients Europe (CPE) is an independent, non-profit organisation founded in Belgium in March 2022 with the mission to represent and empower the voices of cancer patients, carers and survivors across Europe. Born from the collaboration of ten founding members, CPE has rapidly grown to a network of 56 members (37 full and 19 associate) spanning 26 countries by November 2024. CPE advocates for the needs and rights of all those affected by cancer by working alongside European policymakers, healthcare professionals, and research institutions to co-create policies that improve cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship care.

CPE strives to reduce the burden of cancer across Europe by focusing on patient-centred policies and legislation, contributing to Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, and empowering patients to actively participate in their care. Through collaborative efforts and capacity building among its members, CPE aims to ensure that the patient voice is at the forefront of the fight against cancer, ultimately improving the lives of all those affected by cancer throughout Europe.
